Download and installation questions
Is AniMate free to download?
Yes. Built-in characters, AI chat, and desktop dancing are free to use. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks more advanced features — see the pricing page.
Is AniMate safe, and is this the official installer?
It is. We distribute only through the Microsoft Store and the direct installer on this page. The package bundles no third-party software, and every release publishes a SHA256 checksum you can verify.
Which systems are supported? Does it run on Intel Macs?
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon. Intel-based Macs are not supported at this time.
How do I import my own VRM model?
Choose “Import model” inside the app and select a .vrm file. See the VRM import guide for the full walkthrough.
Are there free models to use?
Yes. AniMate ships with free built-in characters, and the free model library curates downloadable VRM sources with import guides.
How is AniMate different from Desktop Mate?

How do I update to the newest version?
Microsoft Store installs update automatically. Direct-installer users can check for updates in the app, or download the newest installer here and install over the existing version — your data and settings are kept.
